IGSS 2020 MIX TAPE
IGSS student mixtapes are the result of a race and equity unit that fits within our yearlong theme: “The America We Need.” Students were asked to pose a question about race and racism in the US and then answer it with a claim. The claim takes the form of music, speeches, broadcasts, lectures, interviews, and more. Please enjoy their album art as you listen!
Trigger Warning:
Our students investigated many aspects of race and racism in America as they assembled their mixtapes. In their interrogations, many examined painful accounts of injustice. Others were inspired by resilience and hope. The voices students chose were included without censorship to accurately reflect the depth of that emotional spectrum. As such, some of the content and language in these mixtapes may be difficult to hear.
