The CREATE Action Project:

Where Curiosity Meets Impact

The CREATE Research and Action Project is a cornerstone of the IGSS experience. Unlike traditional courses that assign fixed topics or themes, IGSS empowers students with the freedom to pursue research on subjects that matter most to them.

Over the course of the first semester, students craft an in-depth research paper, sharpening their investigative and analytical skills. Through multiple drafts, they refine their writing, exchange thoughtful feedback with peers, and ultimately present their findings to the broader IGSS community.

In the second semester, students shift from research to action. They are challenged to apply their learning in meaningful, real-world contexts—whether by conducting original research studies, designing and leading educational experiences in elementary classrooms, or launching community-based projects with tangible impact.

Over the years, IGSS students have produced a wide range of creative and ambitious projects. Examples of standout CREATE work can be found on this page, in the news, and in throughout our parent and student testimonials.
